Novawinch King of the Palace – Winch Challenge 2019 - Northland - Labour Weekend

‘Norwest OHV Club is pleased to announce that the Novawinch 'King of the Palace – Winch Challenge 2019' will be happening over Labour weekend this October at Possum Palace in Northland. Racing starts mid-morning on Saturday 26th October and finishes with prizegiving on Sunday 27th of October. With the infamous Possum Palace Stages being run over 2 days of racing and night stages, this will be a real challenge for those competing. New tracks and new configurations will keep things interesting. Camping is onsite with hot showers and flushing toilets provided. There is also an all-day BBQ for competitors to grab a bite on the go. ‘King of the Palace’ is being run under the Norwest Winch Challenge Rules and is open to 3 Classes of Trucks being Club, Modified and Outlaw. A copy of these Rules can be found on the Possum Palace FB Page under ‘Files’. Entry cost is $300 , Early bird entry fee of $260 for entries received before 1 August. Entries are limited to 25 Trucks so secure your spot now. If you are interested in entering please email possumpalace4x4@gmail.com and ask for an entry form. Battle of the Palace - Teams Event 2018

NOVAWINCH ‘Battle of the Palace - Teams Event 2018’ Hosted by Norwest OHV Club at Possum Palace in Northland. THIS IS A NON SPECTATOR EVENT. The event is open to drivers who are members of the New Zealand Four Wheel Drive Association (NZFWDA). Trucks will have to meet Norwest OHV Club requirements and extreme mud tyres are compulsory. More in depth details are included with the entry forms. The event is limited to 12 teams. The cost per Team is $450. Gates open on Friday 19th, competition runs over Sat 20th and Sunday 21st October (Monday 22nd is a holiday). All competitors are in with a chance of a sponsor prize as drivers names are drawn randomly, so whether you’re first or last you could still walk away with the top prize.

South Waikato 4 Wheel Drive Club are hosing a fundraiser, fun day consisting of 20 hazards. Waimakariri Road, Tapapa – Tirau. Drivers Briefing 8.30am. There will be a sausage sizzle, donation buckets and a raffle, all proceeds will be donated to Canteen.

Tararua Winch Challenge

Hosted by the Tararua 4WD Club at Turakina, starting at 9am on Saturday with two night stages that night and will finish at around midday on Sunday. There will be 3 Classes (Club, Challenge and Modified) and the classification will be based on a combination of 4x4 Challenges NZ Inc rules and Mainland Winch Challenge rules to encourage SI entrants. The Event rules will be based upon the 4x4 Challenges NZ Inc rules. The event will be limited to 20 entrants at this stage and will not be open to the public. The intention is to make scrutineering largely self-monitored as used in Rally NZ and WRC with a check list issued with the entry form and then full scrutineering done on a small random selection of vehicles.
