Cars banned from Titahi Bay beach over safety fears

Councillors backed the move as part of a transport bylaw review at a meeting of the Te Puna K?rero committee on Thursday, citing major safety concerns for beach users.
Western ward councillors Geoff Hayward and Mike Duncan said residents had spoken to them about their fears.
“Enjoying shared space means we all have a shared responsibility,” Hayward said. “I don’t flinch when it comes to having a choice about making the beach safer.”
