Meeting with Richard Davies & DOC Wellington NGO meeting 11/07/13
The three zone PRO's (Myself, Rohan Hooker & Brent Samson) along with the national
PRO (Roger Seymour) meet with Richard Davis in Wellington prior the NGO meeting, this
was a very informative meeting and a very good bridge building exercise. Richard is the
National Partnership Manager and has 6 region managers under him. At the moment they
are in the appointment stages for the regional managers but they will take up there new jobs
in September.
At the NGO meeting Sarah Bagnall the national CMS coordinator did a presentation on the
CMS's. DOC have put together a template for the CMS's so they are all looking the same
now. She said that the important area are the places section, check then carefully as that is
where we will find the stuff that will affect us. She also said to look at the outcome in the
places as this is what DOC wont to achieve. One thing you wont get if you just down load
the CMS's off the web site is a CD that is in the printed copy. The CD contains more
detailed maps so if you are looking to put a submission in get the printed copy they are free
and DOC is more than happy to send you a copy.
One thing that I noted is the "we must focus on solutions rather than problems" if we come
up with a problem we should come up with a solution to solve it that way we may get a
better result.
During a discussion after the meeting between the PRO's, we agreed we shouldn't allow the
new Partnership managers to get swamped but problems from the clubs, and would ask the
club to go through there zone executives.
