Last round for 2016-17 season is coming up on May 13 in Taihape.

A new venue so nobody should have an advantage, enter on the day, entry fee is a low $20.

Hi Everyone

The final of the series was held near Taihape last weekend.

It was another great event. After the recent rain, the courses were quite wet but a lot of fun.

The day belonged to Dave McGinnity, who not only won his class but overall in a class 2 truck. He ended up with 184.12 points over 17 courses. Only 100 penalty points plus 84.12 seconds for the 2 passes of the timed sections – very well done.

Congratulations to the series class winners:

Class 1 - Ross Gregory

Class 2 - Dave McGinnity

Class 3 - Marty Green

The event scores and the over series results are under the results tab

Planning for the next season is underway with the first round possibly in September 2017 (TBC), a Taranaki round 13th & 14th October & a Wellington round 11th November 2017.

Look forward to seeing everone again then

Cheers

Hi Everyone

We’re about to start another season of semi competitive four wheel driving.

At this stage, over the next 6 months, we have 5 rounds confirmed, possibly 6. Dates are in for the first 3. It’s so good to see the planning being done early.

At the final round last season (at Taihape), it was decided by everyone to tweak the rules slightly. These have now been incorporated in the rules (section 5) on the website. Changes are:-

All safety belts must be a minimum of a 3 point belt. This is regardless if it is required for a WOF or not. Cross shoulder and lap.
All fitted roll over hoops must have a diagonal brace.
The dates for the first three rounds are as follows

Round 1 (hosted by Manawatu) – Ratana – 24th September 2017.
Round 2 (hosted by Mt Egmont) – Location to be advised – 21st & 22nd October 2017 (Labour Weekend) – 2 day event
Round 3 (Wellington) – Location to be advised – 11th November 2017.
Round 1 information sheet & registration form is on the website.

Note this date is the day after the CZ Meeting being held on Saturday 23rd September at 1pm. The meeting venue will be at the club rooms of the "Manawatu Amateur Radio Society" the physical address is 65 Totara Road Palmerston North. Have uploaded the email I have received with directions if anyone wants to attend (“CZ Meeting Venue”)

As further info comes to light, I will put it up on the website.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

The 2018 season has started and we had another great event to start off the series.

The venue had to be changed at the last minute (10:30am on Saturday) due to the inability to access the land we were going to use. With all the rain we have had in the Manawatu, we spent 2 hours just trying to get to the paddock with the pegs and still failed let alone competitors getting there. I would like to thank Phil Law for the offer to use his land at Ratana – maybe next time.

We were fortunate to be able switch locations to Tuakina Valley Road and a big thanks to “Red” for letting us use his land.

It was lucky we could switch venues and is another reason why we should always be respectful of the land we have access to and not rip it up for no reason. Failure to do so may put access in jeopardy and then if we were in position again we would have no alternative but to cancel the event.

Never the less, there was a great turn out with 27 drivers enjoying a great day. Although the day had occasional drizzle, it was a lot of fun.

The results are now available under the “Results” tab.

The next event is on the Saturday & Sunday of Labour Weekend (21 & 22 October), just north of New Plymouth. Details will be uploaded as soon as I get them.

However, Details for Round 3 (at Orongorongo Station – Wellington) being held on 11th November 2017 are now available for download.

That’s all for now

Cheers
