gme cb and rt

hey guys. just brought a landcruiser ute with all the bells and whistles as a new hunting truck/toy. included is a wired up gme cb unit tx2700 and i know nothing about it. yes ive sat in the truck and downloaded user manual and read through it but cant pick up any channels. is this unit used in nz? can i pick up truckes channels ect? any help would be much appreciated

What you have is a AM cb radio. Truckys do still use them but dont know what channels. They give better range than prs although speech quality is worse and they are less common nowdays amongst recreational users. Prs has pretty much taken over despite limitations in range in rough terrain etc mainly due to the cheap availability of hand held sets.
Find out what the people you go out with are using and match your gear to that.
I hear the train a comin Its rollin down the line. I only hope the rails and sleepers are all installed in time
