Thanks to Hamish for hosting the camping for the Wairarapa round of the Club Truck Challenge at his place nearby.

He also competed in this classic Rangey.

Round 5 was held in Turakina by the Wanganui club. A great event held in the weekend after the big storm meant that you needed good tyres.

Unoffical results are
1. Marty Green, Capital Cruisers
2. Don Morgan, Wgtn Jeep club
3. Andrew Gee, Valley 4wd club
4. Bruce Tustin, Wgtn Jeep club.

The class results for the whole 2015 series have been posted on http://www.sportsground.co.nz/czctc. Mark calculated the positions from your best three results in your class.

I calculated something different which I posted in my magazine article in NZ4WD magazine (thanks for your support over the season, Editor Ross). I used overall position because some of the Class 1 and 2 guys posted good results that beat Class 3 guys. I also used best four results because we had a good number of people who did all five rounds and it seemed unfair not to support people who support the series.

So based on best 4 results and overall position for each round I calculated series overall positions as

1st Don Morgan, Wgtn Jeep Club
2nd Andrew Gee, Valley 4wd Club
3rd = Steve Stewart, Feilding 4wd Club
3rd = Brendan Watchorn, Manawatu 4x4 Club
5th Alan Stone, Egmont 4x4 club

So get out there and do some practise and we intend to start again the week after Labour Weekend in Taranaki.

To Competitors of the series

We'd like to start some discussion on the vehicle rules so please post your thoughts.

For people building a special vehicle for the Club Truck (not really the idea of the series) we'd like to ban fiddle brakes. It is a major advantage to have fiddles but it also makes it difficult for the people setting the hazards to make something testing.

Thoughts on an outlaw class, probably not competing for series points.

The wording of "traction aids" because a standard LSD doesn't compare to a Detroit locker but is "uncontrolled".

Wairarapa round postponed

Hi there,
I appologise if you receive this multiple times, but I want to make sure every one in informed

Sorry about the short notice, and the weather is one of the few things that is out of our control, though I am sure they are working on that

I contacted Peter Pope over in the Wairarapa at 3pm this afternoon to ask the question if the land owner was all set for the weekend, I got a reply saying that the farm is under water so we will need to postpone the event for this coming weekend. so unfortunately we will have to do this but will keep you posted on when/if we will be having it.

Please contact any person you know is intending to attend and let them know
Mark has sent out a notification via the central zone sportsground web site as well

sorry once again

Regards
Brendan Watchorn
